Year-Round Equipment Mechanic
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled, full-time mechanic to maintain, diagnose, and repair a fleet of landscape construction and site equipment. This role is critical to minimizing downtime, ensuring jobsite productivity, and extending the life of company assets.
Key Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on landscape and construction equipment, including:

Skid steers, excavators, loaders, and compact track loaders

Dump trucks, pickup trucks, trailers
-
Small equipment (plates, saws, compactors, pumps etc.)

Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine issues

Conduct routine inspections and service schedules
-
Coordinate repairs to minimize equipment downtime

Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records
-
Manage parts inventory and communicate repair needs

Ensure equipment meets safety and compliance standards
-
Support field crews with emergency repairs as needed

Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols
Desired Qualifications
-
3+ years of experience as a mechanic in construction, landscape, or heavy equipment environments
-
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
-
Ability to troubleshoot independently and work efficiently
-
CDL a plus, but not required
-
Familiarity with CAT, Kubota, Hitachi, or similar equipment preferred
-
NYS Inspectors license a plus
Work Environment
Primarily shop-based with occasional field service as part of a fast-paced, hands-on roll supporting active construction crews.
