Year-Round Equipment Mechanic

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled, full-time mechanic to maintain, diagnose, and repair a fleet of landscape construction and site equipment.  This role is critical to minimizing downtime, ensuring jobsite productivity, and extending the life of company assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on landscape and construction equipment, including:
    • Skid steers, excavators, loaders, and compact track loaders
    • Dump trucks, pickup trucks, trailers
    • Small equipment (plates, saws, compactors, pumps etc.)
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine issues
  • Conduct routine inspections and service schedules
  • Coordinate repairs to minimize equipment downtime
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records
  • Manage parts inventory and communicate repair needs
  • Ensure equipment meets safety and compliance standards
  • Support field crews with emergency repairs as needed
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols
Desired Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience as a mechanic in construction, landscape, or heavy equipment environments
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot independently and work efficiently
  • CDL a plus, but not required
  • Familiarity with CAT, Kubota, Hitachi, or similar equipment preferred
  • NYS Inspectors license a plus
Work Environment

Primarily shop-based with occasional field service as part of a fast-paced, hands-on roll supporting active construction crews.
